This week is my high school's Unity Week, allowing the students prime opportunities to dress up in correspondence to the given themes for each day. Monday was Nerds Day, and though my outfit was more preppy than nerdy, it succeeded in getting the point across with the help of my dad's mustard-yellow Ralph Lauren sweater patterned with hunting dogs. Yesterday was TV Character Day, which, as you can guess, called for students to dress up as their favorite TV character. Carrie Bradshaw was my character of choice (surprise, surprise), so I created my own rendition of her iconic outfit worn in the opening credits. I was really happy with how it turned out, and would only have added a few things. First, I would have chosen to wear heels instead of flats, but due to the numerous hills and steps that present themselves around my school's campus, I opted with the safer (and more comfortable) option. Second, I would have been sure to curl my hair! My hair is naturally stick-straight, and though most of the time I appreciate it, I would also love the ability to have curls remain intact throughout the day. On Monday night I divided my hair into separate sections (8 braids total) and woke up to perfectly-crimped mermaid-like hair. By the time I had completed my APUSH test at the end of first period, my hair had gone completely flat. Go figure! Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed dressing up as my fictional idol, and would be more than willing to wear this again in public, preferably in New York City :)
Maybe I should have followed my friend Hilary's hair tutorial to achieve perfect waves?
