My History of British Literature II class is my favorite this semester. My professor is both extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject, and the material is fascinating. I have come to love and appreciate all aspects of British literature, and especially enjoy relating the subject material to life outside of the classroom. In Percy Bysshe Shelley’s poem “To a Sky-Lark”, he writes about a paradox of humanity where true happiness can only be experienced after feeling deep sorrow. Though I haven’t felt deeply sad or sorrow lately, I have been in a funk. Being sick on/off for the past two weeks hasn’t helped, nor has the excessive amount of to-dos written in my agenda. Experiencing a car mishap wasn't great, either. (It's never fun when tow trucks are involved.) It wasn’t until the middle of last week when things started turning around. Even better was the end of the week, which I was lucky enough to spend with my family who came down for my brother's water polo tournament. With exciting new opportunities and fun things to look forward to, my hard work is paying off. Life is good, and I’m happy.
Here are a few pictures from last week that make me happy:
