Exploring cities by foot is one of my favorite things to do. This is one of the many reasons I love New York City so much, and one of the many reasons I believe I will love Europe, which I hope to visit someday. Over the past few weekends, I – along with some of my best friends – have made it a goal to visit new parts of Los Angeles.
My friend Marissa and I went to Silverlake, where we saw cool and laidback shops and people. We also lunched at Sqirl, which has been at the top of my list for nearly a year now. It did not disappoint, and the pesto rice and ricotta + fresh jam toast should be in a food group category of their own.
My friend Ruth and I went to Santa Monica’s Montana Avenue, which is full of quaint, trendy shops (and people). The community feel there is something a lot of areas in LA lack, and was refreshing to experience. We did some shopping, and found a great health food store where we stopped for acai bowls.
The next spots on my list? Downtown (DTLA), Fairfax/La Brea, and Larchmont!
